What's Happening at Legitimus

Crossfit Legitimus is located in the Canton Valley of Connecticut. We serve a population of hard-working people of all ages and all fitness abilities, people with and without injuries, people with health issues, and people who are trying to avoid them.
When I ask our members to tell me what people say to them when they say that they go to Legitimus, they say that people are intimidated and too scared to try it themselves. Or that they do not think they are fit enough to attend the gym. This always baffles me, and leaves me not knowing what to say. How do I convince people that hard work and dedication is all were looking for? We have members who are competitive and members who are not, and everything in between. But where you fall in - that is completely and entirely up to you. No matter what your goals are, your ego has to be left in the car. No matter how fit or unfit you are, or if you are athletic or not athletic, it is your ego that is holding you back from making strides in your fitness and your health. It's not the program, not the regimen, not the movements, not the difficulty of any given workout or gym. (Read that again) I supply the stage, the floor, the movements, the instruction, the coaching, the encouragement, and the critiquing. You need to supply stepping outside of yourself, being dedicated to hard work - really hard work. Over the course of years. Not 30 days, not 90 days, not 1 year, but years. The unfortunate truth of health, fitness, and the ability to move is that they cannot be kept without doing repetition and consistency. When you're bored or you're defeated, when you're making gains or not, it really can't matter. Health and fitness cannot be kept without hard work, sacrifice and dedication. My vision for the Legitimus is to keep it real in the Canton Valley. I'm not selling some shiny big box fitness or charging you for a quick fix. I'm here to inform you that the that is no quick fix. I'm sorry if this is the first time you've heard that truth. There is no quick fix, there is no easy fix, there is no easy maintenance program for your health and fitness. We work hard: we lift, we run, we row, we jump, we move, we swing, we push and we pull. A lot. We play hard: we laugh and we make friends and we support each other. A lot. So I guess after this long description of what we're all about you should come in and give CrossFit Legitimus a try. It will not be easy! It won't always be exactly what you think it should be. But if you trust it, trust me, there will be amazing achievements! Jenny Conlin
